Description
This is for a recent assignment to reinvent an image and give it a new meaning.
I picked Munch's 'Scream' because when I was a little kid, this was the first piece of art I actually noticed. In fact, I noticed it so much it gave me nightmares for weeks. Back then, it had power. It was scary. It freaked out my 10year old self, and haunted my dreams.
These days, the Scream has become such a victim of mass media over-saturation, it has lost the power to disturb.
To me, The Scream is no longer scary. He's hanging with fluffy pink bunnies, butterflies and flowers -and chillin' out with his iPod. He'd give you a hug, and his last jellybean.
mixed media on A3 prisma-favini paper
Acrylic, Ink, pastels, color pencil, collage. gel pen
texture added in photoshop
Stock:
Butterflies: shoofly-stock [link]
Flowers: proseuche [link] & tracie76stock [link] & night-fate-stock [link]
Texture: exchanged-stock [link]
-thanks folks
